Long DescriptionThe KINARM End-Point Robot is a stiff, graspable robot that can create highly complex mechanical environments for the study of brain function and dysfunction. For clinical researchers, the KINARM End-Point attempts to replace the coarse, subjective scores of sensorimotor assessments with quantitative and objective measures. KINARM Standard Tests, BKIN’s suite of standardized protocols enables rapid assessment of sensory, motor and cognitive deficits in a short 30 minute window. Parameters are calculated and comparison to age-matched controls enabled. The lab is currently being used by researchers studying: mTBI, sport concussion, TIA, cardiac arrest, Parkinson’s Disease and chronic stroke. The system is modular enabling staged acquisition while preserving the ability to have fully integrated bimanual robotic control. Additional options include an adjustable height stand with integrated force plates for standing postural assessment, integrated gaze-tracking and a rollable version for point-of-care applications.
